Nick and I adventured in Costa Rica for two weeks in September of 2022. We secured our plane tickets and rental car and left the lodging to chance. We’d book our rooms through Air BNB as we went, often times on the day of arrival. This particular stay was our best thrifty travel find yet!
The purpose of this post is not to give you step by step instructions of how to duplicate what we did, but more to open your perspective to creative ways to access extravagant experiences on a super thrifty budget. We were able to “unlock” access to an $800/per night resort while lodging within walking distance for only $18/night.
